Continuum of Care Information

Continuum of Care

Our next major initiative is supporting a local Continuum of Care (CoC) for Lubbock, with the potential to expand to other regions in the future. The foundation of a CoC is a federally guided and assessed set of standards and operations of a homeless response system of care, and provides outcome and community-needs-based funding to address homelessness. Together, we have realized what collaboration and a local CoC can do for Lubbock. It's what we invest in that potential together that makes all the difference for the community.

Yes we care about housing first, but not housing only. It takes a variety of providers and sectors with their resources and creative development when addressing increased needs with little resources. Alleviating poverty and ending homelessness is bigger than just the Continuum of Care (CoC). After working with several local agencies and sectors who are willing to have those critical discussions, along with field and federal experts, it is conclusive that our community will benefit overall from local-level coordination and diversified governance and support. We are eager and willing to take on a shared responsibility and accountability for Our Community.
